As a part of the development of the 2019 Capital Improvement Plan, the Town identified and prioritized multiple projects throughout the community that needed to be undertaken. One of the highest rated projects was the replacement of sewer lines and the alleys in the Harris Addition. This project was split into two parts to cover the western and eastern halves of this subdivision, separately. The eastern half was selected to be constructed first.
Construction on this project started in the spring of 2021 and is now substantially complete. However, there are still a few small items remaining, including installation of some of the replacement speed humps in the alleys where they were located previously. This will be done before the Town accepts the project for maintenance.
We are currently working on the design for the western part of the subdivision and hope to send it out for bids later this year.
If you have questions about the project, please contact Town Engineer Lyle Jenkins. If you would like to receive communications related specifically to this project and future meetings, please contact Public Relations Coordinator Erica Wooldridge.
