Water Tower


Construction site preparations were started in September 2016.

Workers completed the concrete column and interior infrastructure in March 2017 and started welding the bowl together in April. Construction is anticipated to be completed in September and the tower being operational in October. The Town is also in work installing the three new water lines along Hidden Lakes and Town East to support the new tower and should be completed by August.

Roadway Reconstruction - Type B Roads

In 2016, replacement of portions of Town East Blvd, Jobson Road and Tripp Road was completed.

Construction will begin this month to repair/replace Barnes Bridge Road between Beltline and Duck Creek, Long Creek Road between SH-80 and Larkin, and Larkin Road between Long Creek and Scyene. It is anticipated to be complete by the end of the summer.

In 2018, it is anticipated to repair/replace portion of Collins Road, East Fork Road and Tripp Road.

Engineering and design for the project were completed in early 2017. The Town is currently in the in the process of securing the necessary right of way and easements as well as coordinating with utility companies for the relocation of utilities (electric, cable, fiber, etc.) Both are anticipated to be complete later in the fall, with construction starting soon after.
Dallas County agreed to extend their 50/50 MCIP commitment an additional one million dollars to cover the increased costs to modify the project limits to include the consolidation of the two Tripp intersections. The modification enhances the overall safety, effectiveness and efficiency of the project for both the Town and the County.
In April 2017, Council approved issuing a Certificate of Obligation for $4,390,000.
