Library cards are available free of charge to all U.S. citizens and legal aliens who reside in the state of Texas. Your library card can be used to check out books, DVD's, videocassettes, music CD's, audio books, and periodicals.
TexShare Card Program
Allows Sunnyvale Public Library cardholders to borrow materials directly from other libraries.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows Sunnyvale Public Library card holders access to materials that are not available from the Library's collection.
Book Drop
Library books can be returned 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Videocassettes, audio tapes and certain books cannot be returned to the book drop, as doing so may damage those materials. Library materials that cannot be returned to the book drop are marked accordingly.
Computer Workstation
3 computers with high-speed internet access are provided for one hour use. A valid Sunnyvale Library Card free of fines and fees is required. Children under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult. Windows XP with Word, Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Publisher and DVD burner. Patrons can save information onto CD-Rs, DVD-Rs or USB jump drives. Printouts are 25 cents per page for black and white and 50 cents per page for those that include color in any amount.
Wireless Internet Access
The Library offers free wireless internet access. The Library's wireless network utilizes the WiFi standard. Most users can simply bring their wireless ready laptop or other wireless device into the library and turn it on. The computer will automatically access the wireless network. No printing services are available.
Photocopier
Copies letter (8 1/2" x 11") or legal ( 8 1/2" x 14") size documents at a cost of 25 cents a page.
Typewriter
The Library has one typewriter for public use. The Library sells blank paper for 25 cents per page.
Microfiche Reader
The Library has one microfiche reader for public use. No printing services are available.
Periodicals
The Library currently subscribes to over 50 magazines and newsletters.
Newspapers
The Library currently subscribes to the The Dallas Morning News, The Wall Street Journal and copies of the Sunnyvale Gazette are available free.
Telephone Reference
Over the telephone the Librarians will answer questions that require short, readily available factual information and does not require extensive searching or lengthy reading.
Fax Services
Patrons can send and receive faxes. The cost of sending a fax is $1.00 per page to a local fax number, and $1.50 per page to a long distance number. The cost of receiving a fax at the Library is $.50 per page.
Reading Lists
The Library displays the latest bestsellers list and has available the school's Accelerated Reader (AR) lists by title, author and reading level.
Notary Service
The Library Director is a certified notary. It is advisable that you call ahead to arrange an appointment. There is a fee of $6.00 for the first signature and a fee of $2.00 for each additional signature. Bring a photo ID, such as a valid driver's license, and one other current form of identification with your signature. A social security card may not be used as an ID. The document must be in English. Do not sign your documents in advance, all documents must be signed in the presence of the notary. If your document requires additional witnesses, please bring them with you and make sure they have the necessary photo ID. Please note: The notary's oath requires the notary to identify the person signing the document and witness him doing so. The Library cannot make any exceptions to this law.

The Library has tax forms for the last 8 years.
