Rabies Control
Each dog and cat must be vaccinated for rabies by a licensed vet by the age of four months and vaccinated annually in accordance with state law.

Animal Bites
Any animal bite must be reported to the Local Rabies Control Authority (Frank Locke 214-862-4525 - Animal Control) within 48 hours of the incident with the following information:
  • Date, time, and location of incident
  • Name and number of "victim" and any witnesses
  • Description of the animal
  • Name and address of owner (if known or applicable)
  • Any other details of the event the Local Rabies Control Authority requests

The sooner an incident is reported the better for the safety of the victim and the community, in relation to rabies control and public safety. Rabies virus is a very serious concern.

If after hours please call Dallas County Sheriff Dept. at 214-749-8641 and they will contact the Animal Control Officer.
